“Seascape” - learn how to build up a seascape design with strip piecing (Design provided) on which appliqué and decorative stitching can be added (2 days recommended as only the background will be achieved in 1 day)
“Carmel Bay” - Seascape Workshop (2-4 days)
“Landscape” ( 2 days) – design provided. Strip piece, appliqué and quilt a more complicated design to create a landscape quilt and ultimately learn to create your own designs
“ Land/Sea!! Students Own Designs!!” (4 days) This workshop is only for students who have worked the Beginners Landscape or Seascape workshop in a previous workshop and in doing so have learnt the design and construction techniques. We will then work with the students’ own individual designs!!
“Convolvulus Spray” - Wallhanging L21” x W16” (1 day or 2 days as required)
Day 1 A strip pieced background will be sewn using a “Colour Gradation” and a border added. The Convolvulus Spray design will be bonded in position in preparation for machine appliqué
Day 2 Instruction will be given on Machine Appliqué, free machine quilting, machine embroidery, addition of paints and stamps. Quilt will be completed with a ‘French Binding’.
“Wild Poppies” - Strip Pieced Background, Mitred Border, Hand or Machine Appliqué, Machine or Hand Quilted.
“Machine Quilting” - Transfer designs – use Walking Foot – Darning Foot – practice all Quilting techniques on samples and gain sufficient confidence and knowledge to use these techniques in your own work
“Seminole” - Machine sewing fabric strips which are cut and re-sewn to create geometric patterns
“Sew Sea” - “Free and Easy” machine workshop. Machine stitch freely on a foundation and create a “sea-scape” design with the addition of embroidery threads.
NOTE Groups taking the the Land/Sea Scape Workshops sometimes find it preferable to have the first day’s teaching followed by the second day approximately 4 weeks later. This enables the students to work all aspects over a longer period and achieve far more!
