“Stretch a Quilt Day” - instruction on stretching a Quilt Top in preparation for quilting, using a full size frame created from battens which I will supply as well as all the other essential apparatus. Students need a Quilt Top, sufficient wadding and backing fabric for same and thimbles. A minimum of 8 people as well as ‘Needle threaders’ are required! The more people the quicker the job. 2 quilts can be stretched in a day.
Once you have seen a quilt prepared for quilting in this manner, you will not be satisfied with any other method. A good fun day!
“Sing for your Supper” - the background of the Quilt is worked on a foundation whilst the song thrush is worked by hand. The workshop can be taught over a 1 or 2 day period.
