David Rattray says a prayer at the grave of the Zulu King Cetyswayo
(from right Adrian Greaves, founder of Anglo Zulu War Historical Society,
John McLaughlin, David Rattray RIP, Michael McLaughlin)
My brother John and I stayed at David’s Fugitive’s Drift Lodge. David kindly took us on a never to be forgotten expedition into the hinterland of the Nkandla forest to visit the above grave and the Mome Gorge and to small villages where the Zulu children had not previously seen a white face.
The photographer was Rob Gerrard, currently resident historian at Isandlwana Lodge.
